This course is designed for students who are eager to establish a strong foundation in Japanese language skills at an accelerated pace. Focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing, students will rapidly gain proficiency in Hiragana and Katakana, along with an introduction to 29 Kanji (Chinese characters). The course goes beyond mere familiarity, encouraging students to apply their knowledge through rigorous practice and advanced exercises. The curriculum covers the first four chapters of the Genki Textbook I, with an emphasis on deepening understanding and application.

Building on the accelerated learning of JPN 1001, this course challenges students to master essential grammar concepts such as adjective conjugations, the te-form, and the short form with greater depth and intensity. Students will be trained in the most fundamental grammatical structures with rigorous practice, enabling them to convey core concepts and thoughts to navigate in Japan. The focus on thorough comprehension and application ensures that students are well-prepared for future language studies. This course is considered one of the most critical stages in the accelerated learning path, making it essential for those aiming for high proficiency in Japanese. This course covers Chapters 5 through 9 of the Genki Textbook I.

Designed to rapidly develop conversational proficiency, this second-year elementary Japanese course pushes students to expand their vocabulary and grasp more essential grammatical structures quickly. Emphasis is placed on speaking and listening through rigorous and immersive practice sessions, with additional advanced exercises to reinforce understanding. Students will also take a mock JLPT N5 exam, which serves as a benchmark for accelerated progress. This course covers Chapters 10 through 12 of Genki textbook I and Chapters 13 & 14 of Genki textbook II.

In this course, students will be introduced to more complex grammar and will engage in an in-depth exploration of Japanese culture. The curriculum emphasizes continuous practice in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, with additional advanced exercises designed to push students' abilities further. Key topics such as giving and receiving, transitivity pairs, and honorific verbs are covered with a focus on deep understanding and flexible real-world application. This intensive approach ensures that students build a robust intermediate-level foundation, mastering an expanded repertoire of core phrases, expressions, Kanji, vocab, and grammar. This course covers Chapters 15 through 19 of the Genki Textbook II. 　

This final course at the elementary level is tailored for students who aim to use Japanese as a medium for communication at a high level. The curriculum includes rigorous speaking and listening practice, with an emphasis on mastering complex grammar topics such as passive, causative, and causative-passive constructions. In addition, students will engage with significantly longer reading passages and audio clips to enhance their comprehension skills. The course also delves into the cultural nuances of the language, ensuring that students can use Japanese effectively in various contexts. Students will take a mock JLPT N4 exam to measure their progress. This course covers the final four chapters of the Genki textbook II.

This course offers an intensive path into the intermediate level of Japanese, covering the first three chapters of the Quartet textbook I. The focus is on rapidly improving accuracy and fluency in spoken communication, with a balanced but rigorous approach to reading, listening, and writing skills. Students will engage in advanced exercises that challenge their understanding and application of pre-intermediate-level Japanese, preparing them for the JLPT N3 exam. The accelerated pace and comprehensive content ensure that students are well-equipped to handle more complex language tasks. This course covers the first three chapters of the Quartet textbook I.

This course the remaining three chapters of the Quartet textbook I. Students will be immersed in more complex sentence patterns, expressions, and communication strategies, with advanced exercises that push their language skills to the next level. The intensive curriculum is designed to prepare students not only for the JLPT N3 exam but also for more advanced studies, with a focus on developing the ability to communicate effectively in various situations. A mock JLPT N3 exam will be administered to assess progress. This course covers the last three chapters of the Quartet textbook I.

This course continues the Quartet series at the intermediate level with a focus on expanding communicative competence and deepening structural understanding. Students practice intensive discussion and contextual conversation using increasingly complex grammar and vocabulary from Quartet II. Emphasis is placed on accurate expression in diverse real-life scenarios while strengthening reading and listening comprehension with authentic materials. This course prepares learners for the more advanced intermediate content that follows.

Building on the foundations of JPN 4002, this course completes the Quartet II material with a strong focus on refining accuracy and communicative precision. Learners engage in advanced grammar patterns, nuanced spoken interaction, and extended reading passages. The curriculum challenges students to articulate subtle differences in meaning and usage while enhancing vocabulary depth and Kanji familiarity. This rigorous practice ensures confident performance before transitioning to Tobira content in subsequent courses.

This course transitions into Tobira to extend intermediate competence toward advanced communicative ability. Through thematic readings, discussions, and integrated skills practice, students expand comprehension of complex texts and develop precise expressive capacity. Emphasis is placed on advanced sentence patterns, Kanji acquisition, and interpretation of nuanced Japanese discourse. Learners also engage in writing and listening exercises designed to mirror JLPT N2-level demands.

Continuing the Tobira sequence, this pre-advanced course deepens Japanese proficiency by engaging students with sophisticated themes and practical contexts. Learners analyze extended texts, participate in detailed dialogues, and produce structured essays on real-world topics. The course strengthens critical listening and expressive fluency through discussion of cultural, societal, and academic material in Japanese, preparing students for truly advanced language use.

As the final course in the pre-advanced Japanese sequence, this course offers the most challenging content yet, covering the last five chapters of the Tobira textbook. The curriculum emphasizes reading, grammar, and listening comprehension, with advanced exercises that challenge students' understanding of complex texts on topics such as Japanese history, government, traditional crafts, and the relationship between the Japanese people and nature. The course's intensive approach ensures that students are fully prepared to pass the JLPT N2 exam and to handle more advanced studies. A mock JLPT N2 exam will be administered to assess progress. This course covers the last five chapters of the Tobira textbook.

This advanced course is for students who have already passed the JLPT N2 level and wish to further develop their reading, speaking, listening, and writing skills to a higher level. The entire class is conducted exclusively in Japanese, with an emphasis on achieving the highest level of proficiency in all four language skills. The curriculum follows textbooks such as Nihon e no Shōtai and Bunka e no Manazashi, but is highly flexible and can be tailored to meet students' individual needs and requests. The course includes advanced exercises in reading, listening, and speaking, with a particular focus on developing the ability to read long novels, newspaper articles, and listen to NHK news with ease. The course's intensive approach ensures that students are well-prepared to pass the JLPT N1 exam and to handle more advanced studies.
