I've gone leaps and bounds past that in a year thanks to the class.
Rodrigo Passalacqua
- First, could you tell us about yourself? (Your name, age, occupation, etc., as much as you are comfortable sharing)
- My name is Rodrigo I'm 29 years old.
- How long have you been taking classes at Oku Sensei’s Japanese?
- Almost 1 year now.
- What was your situation before you started Oku Sensei's Japanese?
- I understood Hiragana, Katakana, around 50-100 kanji.
- What results were you expecting before signing up? And what results did you actually achieve?
- I was just hoping to learn more and be able to understand the language and speak it. I've definitely become able to listen and understand a TON now, and I can form all kinds of sentences.
- Why do you think you were able to achieve the results mentioned in Q4?
- The note system of the class I think is a big boon, having the slides available as soon as class is over allows me to be able to pay attention in class, and not be writing lots of notes.
- What was the most memorable aspect of learning at Oku Sensei's Japanese?
- Perhaps simply being able to go back and listen to songs I knew before but be able to understand so much more of them.
- Have you studied Japanese anywhere else? What differences did you notice compared to other Japanese language schools?
- I've only done self study and it doesn't really compare.
- Did you find the price to be expensive? (Did you feel that what you gained was worth more than what you paid?)
- It's very much worth it, for what you are paying, especially due to how flexible Oku Sensei herself is.
- Who would you recommend Oku Sensei's Japanese to? On the other hand, if there is someone you wouldn't recommend it to, what kind of person would that be?
- I would recommend it to people who have an obvious interest in the Japanese language, and would like to deepen their understanding but don't know how. The people I wouldn't recommend it to are people who aren't interested in learning Japanese.
- What content attracted you to sign up for Oku Sensei's Japanese? Did you have any hesitations when signing up?
- I was informed about the class by a friend of mine, and once I had a small meeting with Oku sensei I wasn't worried whatsoever.
- If you hadn’t signed up for Oku Sensei's Japanese, what do you think your situation would be now? Also, when do you think is the best time to sign up?
- It's possible I might know a little bit more Japanese than I knew before, but I've gone leaps and bounds past that in a year thanks to the class. Best time to sign up depends on the person, and the course load they decide to take on.
- As someone who has studied Japanese at Oku Sensei's Japanese, could you give a message to those who will start learning in the future?
- Study regularly! It does not have to be for hours and hours, spacing out small study regularly is great for understanding, and also ask lots of questions!
